CRIMINOGENESIS & CRIMINODINAMIC : a brief introduction

What’s “Criminogenesis”?
It’s the explanation of the cause, the reason wich a delinquent had to commit crimes.
How to know that causes? Through the study of his/her life history, from where go:
A) Basic psychological profile/individual
B) Ambiental influence/sociogenesis

But, what’s the nature of this causes? Basically, they have genetic nature, ie, the subject has a certain psychological profile made by his genetic. They are also surronded by environmental stimuli, wich may trigger a criminal behavior. The criminogenesis studies both the characteristics and the intensity of the criminal conduct, considering 3 personality elements:

1. Inherited –> temperament
2. Learned –> character
3. Habitat –> environment

There is a set of general factors:

a) Causal
b) Criminogenic index
c) Criminogenic incentive: It’s the reason, the impulse to commit crimes
d) Criminogenic cause: why

There is a set of the specific Crimimogenic Factors:
There are 2 parts:
*-Internal –> Endogenous –> Genes
*-External –> Exogenous –> Education and environment
So they are:
Social
Psychological
Familiar
Biological

What’s “Criminodinamic”?
It’s the further study of the process that the subject followed until complete the criminal conduct. Obviously, first we have to determine the criminogenesis.

PONEROLOGY. ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PONEROLOGY

Earlier in PONEROLOGY: A BRIEF INTRODUCTION we had exposed the concept and theory of Ponerology, by Lobaczewski.

Ted Bundy
The serial killer Ted Bundy

The author says that evil is similar in nature to the disease, although this is more complex and elusive to our understanding. Its genesis reveals many pathological factors; especially psychopathological, in character, whose essence, medicine and psychology have already studied. Understanding the essence and genesis of evil generally uses information from biology, medicine and psychology. Only a philosophical reflection is clearly insufficient.

On the base of the theory of Ponerology, psychopathy (“essential psychopathy” according Lobacweski) is located.

Surely many of you have heard about this personality disorder, since it’ very fashionable “by chance”. Psychopathy is generally characterized by the uncontrolled impulsivity and inability to feel emotion and empathy of a human being. From that lack of control and inability is generated the next psychological/behavioral profile :

1. Superficiality

1.1. Lie

2. Eccentricity and grandeur

3. Lack of empathy

3.1.Lack of remorse / guilt

4. Impulsivity

4.1.Descontrol of behavior

5. Need for excitement

6. Lack of accountability

7. Behavioral problems in childhood

7.1. Adult antisocial behavior

Sounds it familiar?

A psychopath is usually a charming, trickster person who poses him/herself as important and talented. This is how he / she gains the trust of the people, to try becoming them dependent on him / her, and so exploit their weaknesses to manipulate for him/her advantage; usually through the scam, abuse and blackmail. This kind of person likes to get into very large, colorful and outlandish projects, both in normal life and the criminal life.

The causes of psychopathy are 3 types:

Limbic System A) Organic: when the brain has injuries, which have directly affected the limbic system (manages physiological responses to emotional stimuli) and caused the person has undergone a personality disorder

B) Genetic: when the person manifests antisocial and deviant behavior at an early age (childhood), without having suffered any brain injury directly above, and living in a normal social environment. Ie, the person is born with this problem because it’s genetically originated

C) Social: when the person grows and develops in abnormal social environment, Limbic Systemviolento, criminal and / or is mistreated repeatedly and his/her psyche “learns” the disorder, assimilating it

The psychopath is born and made.

Objectively, in fact, the problem is always organic, because if the individual is born with the problem he suffers a brain defect or deficiency (instead of injury). And if the individual develops the disorder because of their social environment, brain has developed this deficiency.

The brain is the computer of our mind and body, so whenever there is a mental, psychological or physical problem, the answer is in the brain, and genetics because it is their language.

Lobaczewski disagree with that psychopathy is caused by damage or deficiency in the front of the brain, he calls it front characteropathy“.

The author discusses the characteropathies” in the explanation of Evil.

A characteropathy is a pathological entity associated with a particular character trait that invades the conduct of the person beyond his will, and hinders their social adaptation, capacity building, relationships

The serial killer Andrei Chikatilo
The serial killer Andrei Chikatilo

The brain matter retains unblemished natural and instinctive emotional responses of our species. This includes, for example, the ability to form emotional ties with others and empathize, ie what Lobaczewski called intuit a psychological situation. However, characteropathic thought processes differ, and are characterized by increased emotional violence and pathological egotism. His conceit and self-importance narcissistic and irregular psychology have a traumatizing effect on normal people, diminishing much common sense of his victims to the point they where infected with pathological thinking. The younger or more naive individuals, can be transmitted more easily these traits.

The characteropathies make mental disorders and personality disorders, and the author stresses that these are the core of evil in humanity.

Specifically, hereditary or acquired psychological disorders and ignorance of their existence and nature are the primary causes of evil. The magic number of 6% seems to represent the number of human carriers of genes responsible for biological, or who acquire such disorders in the course of his life evil.

This small percentage is responsible for the vast majority of human misery and crime, and infect others with their flawed worldview.

Adolf Hitler & Iósif Vissariónovich Stalin
Adolf Hitler & Iósif Vissariónovich Stalin

The spread of evil doesn’t respect any limits of race, creed or ideology. All races carry the genes, and all schools of thought are susceptible to their influence. These pathological factors form a complex network. Only within this network can be understood the “bad environment where all circumstances can influence a normal person to commit harmful acts.

We must always remember that the environment in which develops and lives a person is essential about is/her behavior, thinking and personal resources.

According to the author, there are a deforming tendencies of reality that help Evil triumphs among us:

1. Emotional reactions: often little appropriate

2. Moralizing interpretation: we make moral judgments, as if our thinking were the best

3. Interpretation corrective christic: its richer psychological worldview, normal people often trivialize glaring errors and project their own understanding of the work of someone who lacks such skills

4. Reflection of self-protection: we identify quickly as a threat to others and apply a moral judgment

5. Normal Psychological Types

6. Lack of universality: we live our lives with only emotional thinking and the pursuit of happiness, but these tools are insufficient when we’re dealing with psychopathology

7. Egotism and natural worldview: some people with a highly developed natural vision of psychological, social and moral aspects tend to overvalue their own worldview, seeing it as an objective basis for judging others. While this is the least pernicious form of egotism, based on humanistic principles, the refusal to admit the possibility of error can have an oppressive effect on contractionary measures against macrosocial disease. The game

But, I always end up wondering: what is the reality?

Lobacweski explains Histerodial cycle of human society:

The key is in the “pursuit of happiness” of the human being from the beginning of time. Humans began to exploit animals and their environment, and then to their human companions. They were the seeds of suffering and inequality, so good times became bad. The issue is that knowledge learned in bad times leads to the creation of good times again, and the cycle is repeated.

When times are good, the perception of truth, understanding what a healthy human personality and its dynamics, ceases to be the highest priority, then it ceases to be understood and finally disappears. So the search for truth is considered a pointless activity for the same reason that they are “good times”. A deep understanding can become “old fashioned” or even can be neglected.

This is what is happening, and that’s very dangerous.

In the genesis of Evil the most important cause is the interaction of two human factors:

a) Normal human ignorance and weakness

b) The existence and action of a small but extremely active group of psychologically deviant individuals

The ignorance of the existence of such psychological differences is the first ponerogenesis criterion because this ignorance creates a crack through which such individuals can act unnoticed.

A very interesting science, right?

And decisive.

The Rise and Fall of Johnny Depp

A brief and interesting analysis of Johnny Deep and his career

Fandango Groovers Movie Blog

Sean Penn won the Oscar for best actor in 2004 for the Clint Eastwood movie Mystic River. The other nominees were Jude Law (Cold Mountain), Ben Kingsley (House of Sand and Fog), Bill Murray (Lost in Translation) and Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl). At the time of the Oscars I had seen and enjoyed all the films, Lost in Translation being my favourite, and my Pick for Best Picture and Best director, but that’s a story for another day. I think I would have been happy for any one of the actors to have won, but something deep down in me wanted Depp to win. It was his first nomination with two more to follow soon after; Finding Neverland in 2005 and Sweeney Todd in 2008. My disillusionment with the Oscars was at its hight at this time, the previous year they had handed…

10 Actors Who Played Diametrically Opposed Characters

Excellent article! Must read

Deja Reviewer

A great actor can play anyone, even if it means playing two characters that seem similar in some respects but are actually the opposite of each other in big and small ways. I’ve come up with a list of 10 actors who have pulled off this feat.

This post was inspired by a comment by my friend O Poderoso Chofer, another excellent blogger. He’s awesome, and I really appreciate this idea because I’ve had a lot of fun writing this article.

Let’s jump right into it!

PONEROLOGY: A BRIEF INTRODUCTION

What the hell is the “Ponerology”?

Poneros (latin): evil.

Ponerology: it’s a new science which analyzes “evil”, its origin, nature and causes on Humanity.

Who developed this science?

The psychiatrist Andrzej Łobaczewski (Poland). Specifically, this science is an interdisciplinary study of the causes of social injustice periods, ie, periods of oppression against human population (war of aggression, genocide, ethnic cleansing, police states). Here Psychology, Psychopathology, History, Sociology and Philosophy are involved.

Where was conducted the investigation?https://i0.wp.com/ayay.co.uk/backgrounds/fantasy/monsters/possessed-demon-rabbit.jpg

Czechoslovakia and Hungary during the years before the institution of communism.

So, the author dissects the psychological profile of the people” who come to power and become hard authoritarian leaders, as well as psychopathological processes or mental illnesses that are related to the types of evil behavior and evil thoughts, which are completely dissociated from the unit, collaboration, coexistence and original human feelings.

With very few exceptions through the ages, discussions of moral philosophy ( the study of right conduct) have failed to systematically investigate the origin, nature and  the course of evil in a manner free of supernatural imaginings. Evil was often regarded as something to be suffered and endured rather than something that could be understood and eliminated by rational measures.

The author talks about the happy times” and “unhappy times” that are alternated in societies, and he also talks about the term pathocracy” which means A system of government created by a small pathological minority who take over a society of normal people“.

Really, Evil requires a truly modern and scientific approach to discover its secrets.

Without knowledge there are no solutions. Without knowledge there is no nature. Without knowledge there is no life.

Don’t wake up

It’s a cloudy day. I see the city from the sky, and I’m flying, but I don’t feel my body.
I don’t know that city and I don’t know that landscape. Suddenly I find myself in a building, and I’m looking out the window.
I see in the distance a plane flying very low, and I scream because that plane falls very close to my building, but my shout isn’t heard.
image

I instinctively jumped back, but I just know because I see it, I really don’t feel my body. I only feel my intense emotions and all the fear and the desire to survive that I can hold inside.
The building leans to one side, and begins to fall. I see it fall, and I can’t go out and fly. I can only see my mobile phone. I pick it up and try to call someone. I think about goodbye . “No need to keep fighting, you know …”. I keep trying to move in and leave the building.

Suddenly I appear in the streets of another city. People are dressed from another era, perhaps 1940 or earlier.

imageMy mother is with me, and I’m totally confused. I ask her what are we doing there. She says me we are shopping. But, we’re not talking in words. We walked into a store. We are in a hurry.

What a paradox pretend survive without body.

That‘s why they are called nightmares” because you feel the same as having body. You don’t feel free.

But … Nightmares are just a dream, because life is too.

It’s time to run.

LEARNED HELPLESSNESS. ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LEARNED HELPLESSNESS.

Maybe, if you’re not a psychologist, psychiatrist, sociologist, researcher or student, you’ve never heard of “learned helplessness”. Don’t worry, because you are in the right place and time.

Our mind is a super reactive computer, so it reacts (we react) to all environments, circumstances, events, energy and external information, ie, reacts to the stimulus’. These external stimuli provoke certain reactions, through our perception, and trigger different psychological phenomena in response either to solve, flee, fight or defend. Yes, that’s the life on the Earth.

Psychological phenomena are groups of certain reactions to these stimuli, resulting in a behavior. When a person something happens, whether good or bad, it’s usually detected in his/her behavior.

Learned helplessness is just a psychological phenomenon which presents the following behavior:

Passive behavior in situations, environments, or adverse circumstances in life although there are real opportunities to change these situations or problems; avoiding unpleasant circumstances , or obtaining positive rewards. Learned helplessness translates into an absolutely evasive behavior against complications, because the subject flees problems, evade, interposing a shield of excuses, which have often victim nature.

This psychological phenomenon can be easily induced, or simply caused by stressful and negative situations  for a long time.

SELIGMAN, in 1967, made the “Theory of learned helplessnessfrom the study in dogs, the effects of a series of INEVITABLE electric shocks, with no possibility of escape, and then another series of AVOIDABLE electrical shocks, with the possibility of escape. The result? Dogs failed to learn to escape and avoid shocks. The author showed that the reason for this phenomenon was due to uncontrollability of the original shocks using an experimental design called triadic design”, based on 2 stages. This design allows isolating the effects of uncontrollable consequences of the effects of controllability, this is precisely the trick.

In the experiment there are 3 groups of subjects:

a. Escapable

b. Inescapable

c. Control

The phases are:

1. Pretreatment: the escapable group is exposed to aversive consequences that can be controlled by the subjects (contingent reinforcement). The Inescapable group is exposed to the same aversive consequences but has no possibility to control (non-contingent reinforcement). Control group undergoes this phase.

2. Proof: all subjects are exposed to a test task in which the tests are related contingently with some response of subjects, so the consequences are CONTROLLABLE for ALL subjects.

Then, learned helplessness is verified whether subjects of INESCAPABLE group show a DEFICIT in the response (reaction) ESCAPE-AVOIDANCE in the testing phase, compared to the other two groups. The learned helplessness theory posits that organisms exposed to a situation of uncontrollability show later deficits in learning success responses (solutions) .

“I can’t”

Learned helplessness has been studied deeply,

and has determined that it’s manifested through three deficits:

A) Motivational: delay in the initiation of voluntary responses, ie, the subject doesn’t believe that their responses affect the consequences, so it stops issuing them.

B) Cognitive: belief in the ineffectiveness of their responses to control the consequences that hinders the learning of later success.

C) Emotional *: a series of characteristic behavioral and physiological disorders, in a state of anxiety and fear followed by depression, occur when the consequences in the pretreatment are sufficiently aversive.

The emotional deficit is the most serious because it’s the most harmful in the psyche, emotional integrity is paramount in good mental health.

There are other effects following exposure to uncontrollable shocks worth mentioning here:

– Reduction of aggressiveness and competitiveness

– Conditioning of high levels of fear neutral stimuli rigged to shock

– Increased stress symptoms (for example: ulcers)

– Changes in the levels of cortisol and neurotransmitters like norepinephrine

In short, learned helplessness is a person experiencing the consequences and his/her behavior are independent, ie, uncontrollable , so he/she forms an expectation that there will be no contingency response-consequence in the future.

When a person perceives that the situations are uncontrollable, makes a causal attribution, ie the reason for this uncontrollability. The causal attribution has 3 areas:

1. Internal-External: causes of self or circumstances. If the cause is attributed to self, self-esteem is destroyed.

2. Stable-Unstable: constant or time varying causes. If adverse situations are persistent, learned helplessness becomes chronic.

3. Global-Specific: General causes in different situations, or a particular situation.

In addition helplessness can be:

Universal: a person who believes that their responses are not contingent with the desired effect and that no other subject has these responses, ie, believes the solution is simply “impossible”. This person attributes the cause to external, specific and unstable factors. The helplessness does not generalize.

Personal: a person who believes he has the answers but others have them, ie, believes that “can not”. The person attributes the cause to internal, stable and global factors. The helplessness is chronic and widespread.

The theory of learned helplessness has been proposed as an explanatory model of human depression because the symptoms can be induced by treatment with helplessness.

NOT ALL IS LOST…

The good news is that learned helplessness can be overridden. This is done by first submitting the subject to a successful escape learning with which he/she can escape a shock through an escape response. This equates to immunize against defenseless.

The learned helplessness model postulates that emotion and motivation are shaped by the environment, so directly affects education. The cause of learned helplessness are past experiences, so it is important the infant stage of a person, because that is what will set your mind. If a child in his/her environment, others do not stop tell him/her he/she is worthless, silly and they assault him/her, that’s how he/she will feel to the world and in the future. However, if the others support the child, and they say him/her that he/she is valuable, and he/she is good and can do everything he/she porposes successfully , this child will be brave, motivated, optimistic and confident. It’s simple.

The attitude of a child or an adult to his own helplessness or ability domain is based on child development. For learning domain, is essential that the mother act so responsive, because the absence of the mother, deprivation and unresponsive stimulate maternal behavior contribute to the learning of uncontrollability.

Finally, if you have ever felt that way, or you feel that way now, you should know that there is a SOLUTION. You are not alone! Stop thinking so, and stop believing that you are a victim, because in reality you are a human being with rights, and secondly, you’re a survivor.

You should know what you’re falling for

“This isn’t real. You’re not real. You‘re nobody. Your thoughts aren’t true. Your understanding isn’t correct, because it’s based on something that doesn’t exist. You have nothing. What you see is only a scene without meaning. Nothing around you have meaning. The countries don’t exist. The laws either. The information is untrue, it’s not information.”

But…Why put all that in this book? Alicia thought and continued reading.

“Because freedom doesn’t exist. Because there are only feelings, and you, soul, for some mysterious reason you’re here, now, totally alone with them. So they are all you should care. So vibrate, without being bad, without being good, as hard as you can, through your feelings, and maybe, you will return to your origin.

But never, never give up.

Matter is just matter.”

…the soul is everything – Alice said closing the book.

NEGLECT. ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT NEGLECT.

Neglect
Two kids sleeping on the floor of the street. It’s an extreme example of the family neglect

Can the family neglect destroy psychologically a person?

What is the behavior of a person psychologically destroyed?

According to a study conducted in 2002 at the University of Málaga (Spain) on The psychological impact of family neglect in a group of children, family neglect, completely paralyzes and delays the psyche of children.

Negligence means indifference. When a human being manifests indifference to another human being, makes an impression on his mind, and if this indifference is prolonged, it causes a psychological and social consequences eventually. This is intensified when the person suffering the indifference of others is a child.

The mind of a child is very tender, soft, premature. The mind of a child is very malleable, and what the cast, in this world, is his environment. His closest and most influential environment is the family. What a child lives in their home is his personality mold. The home environment is the recipient of the human psyche maturing.

Previous stTrabajo-infantiludies reveal:

Abandoned children present more problems ,and more severe, between 5 and 6 years old.

 – These children have lower cognitive performance, are anxious, distracted, unmotivated, can’t do their homework without help from the teacher, are socially withdrawn, dependent and have a permanent state of anger.

 – Abandoned children physically present externalizing behaviors such as aggression, hyperactivity and distractibility, while physically abused children exhibit internalizing behaviors such as anxiety, obsession compulsion, inhibition, unpopularity and destruction.

The family neglect destabilizes the policy development in the cognitive, linguistic and social levels, causing fear and anxiety in children from any everyday situation, even if it was positive.

Abused children have a delayed cognitive development and academic performance.

The family neglect progressively develops chronic states of sadness and anxiety, feelings of inferiority and low self esteem.
tumblr_mby3loTPKE1rqhhsjo1_250

The study by the University of Málaga (Spain), reveals that children who were victims of serious family neglect manifest lower overall adaptation, and lower academic performance against children who suffered slight negligence.

In addition, these children have a poorer general adaptive characteristics, they work and learn less, they are less happy and behave inappropriately. They live in a world far removed from reality, they don’t know how to behave socially for acceptance of others, they aren’t adapted to correct situations outside their family. These children are rejected by their high levels of unpopularity, hyperactivity, pre-delinquent behavior and hardness in his personality.
So, children who suffered serious family neglect manifest very different pathological behaviors as criminal behavior, hardness, hyperactivity, unpopularity and externalizing behaviors.   violencia%20infantil4

There is no doubt that family neglect is the most serious, because socially and humanly it’s the most damaging.

Children are people in society. These people grow up and become who their experiences have taught them to be.

A child always needs someone to teach him, someone who is at his side, not only to protect him from everything, because overprotect is bad too, but to be heard. Humans are social beings, ie, they need social relations to develop and live. If a small human is deprived of that, he can’t develop, and he will be deficient in many respects.

Take care of your children.

They are a treasure.
